Software Blogs and Forums That I Read

With all the noise out there, it can be challenging to find the software blogs and discussion forums that are really relevant to your business.

And you have limited time as a software vendor. I've included here the blogs that I read on a regular basis and are updated frequently enough to be interesting, and also the useful discussion forums related to software marketing and business.

Of course, you should also check out our "What's New at Software Marketing Advisor" blog and our Technology Marketing blog as well.

Blogs

  • SandHill.com blogs - Good general blog on the state of the software industry and articles of interest to software firms from this well-known VC/analyst company.
  • OnStartups blog - excellent blog for software entrepreneurs from a very successful software entrepreneur himself.  Go to "Discussions" at the top of the page for a useful forum for software companies and startups.
  • Software as Services blog - Phil Wainewright's blog at ZDNet about everything to do with software services.
  • Chaotic Flow blog - nice blog about SaaS, by Joel York.  He publishes well-written, well thought out articles on various topics related to SaaS.
  • SaaStr - You'll regularly find interesting articles in this web community of SaaS entrepreneurs.

Discussion Forums

  • The Business of Software - a good, active forum all about the business of software from the perspective of the small ISV primarily.
