Tips for Developing Your USP

What is a USP and why is it so critically important?

USP stands for Unique Selling Proposition. It's a brief, preferably one-sentence, description of the key unique benefits of your product or service to your prospective customers.

It's very important to be able to articulate what about your offering is unique to your target market. It's never enough to be "the same as" or "slightly better than." That doesn't give prospects a reason to switch.

Don't think your product or service is unique?

Then you either haven't defined your target niche narrowly enough... Or you haven't given thought to how your product or service can benefit from your strengths or the market opportunities (SWOT analysis).
